Costa Rica Cacao Trip 2011

Posted on Jan 27, 2011 in News

Greetings.  I wanted to let anyone know, who might be interested in:
1. eating fresh cacao fruit from the tree
2.  seeing and and eating handfuls of other fruits you've never before laid your eyes on
3. learning, seeing, eating your way through the beauties of Costa Rican culture
4. visiting a cacao gene bank where you can see about 15 different types and shapes of cacao beans
5. paddle across a river in a canoe straddled between Panama & Costa Rica
6. ride in the back of a truck through the wild cacao tropics
7. see breathtaking sites
8.  meet like-minded lovers of cacao and chocolate
9. and basically have the time of your life.
that there are 4 spots for left last I checked for the March 2011 trip.
I went on this trip a few years back and it was that good.  I really don't know who else does something like this.  The guides are world-class (Steve De Vries-cacao explorer and Julio Fernandez-enthralling human encyclopedia), you will learn stuff about cacao fermentation AND about sloth rearing you never knew you wanted to know, including things not to pick up while hiking through a tropical cacao forest
